Shea Butter (also known as African Karite Butter) is expressed from the fruit of the African Shea Butter Tree, which grows in Central Africa. It is gentle enough for babies and people with sensitive skin.

Shea butter soothes and softens dry, chapped skin, while nourishing all skin types. It is said to help cell regeneration and capillary circulation. This aids in the healing of small wounds, skin cracks and crevices, and skin ulcers. Shea butter has also been used to treat rheumatism and aching muscles. It is very well tolerated by the skin for it does not normally trigger any allergic reaction and can even be used on very sensitive skin areas such as mucous tissues and around the eyes.
